The Obse is a platform, a registry of attacks against human rights defenders and journalists in the region of Chiapas, Mexico. It is a project made up of more than 15 civil society organisations in Chiapas that has been developed collectively to highlight the violence and insecurity faced by human rights defenders and journalists because of their work. SweFOR in Mexico supports their work through workshops, risk analysis, communication and support in public presentations. The platform consists of a public database with statistics and graphs and an analysis section where biannual reports are published.
The platform offers rigorous data on threats and attacks against defenders, journalists, organisations and communities, and contextualises them within the framework of the political violence suffered by the entire population in the state of Chiapas.
